Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the forces.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.
How to Recognize Scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
if they had any money, do not show up again.
