Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offering Fake Magazine Subs

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you’ve been targeted by someone who,
