Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police force, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
