Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune firefighters.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have no connection to law enforcement.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
