Scammers Posing as Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not servicemen but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

after obtaining money, stops appearing.
