Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines of the force.

These are not officers but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the authorities.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and do not return.
