Scammers Impersonate Police to Trick Garda Businesses into Fraud

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal Police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.
