Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Businesses and Seek Payments

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the force’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams
