Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area to Steal Money

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance departments, police, fire brigades, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, cease all contact.
