Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area Enforcement Calls

They pretend to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement authorities.
