Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri— by dialing 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, stop appearing and do not make further contact.
