Castiglione delle Stiviere Hosts Grand Castiglionese Carnival Revival

Castiglione delle Stiviere will host the Gran Carnevale Castiglionese on February 22, starting at 2 p.m., featuring a parade of allegorical floats and masked groups through the town center. The event, part of the Carnevale dei Colli circuit and organized with the Strada dei Vini e Sapori Mantovani association, will culminate in Piazza San Luigi, where performances will be judged for expressiveness, costume originality, and choreography.

The parade will include six floats and multiple groups from Mantova and Brescia provinces, with awards for best entries and special recognitions in memory of Giacomo and Guido Stuani, key figures in the carnival’s history. The “Maria Luana Resmini” award will also be introduced for the best choreography. The event may be canceled in case of bad weather; updates are available on the Valore Castiglione Facebook page.
