Serious boating accident on Lake Garda: two injured, investigations underway
A serious boating accident shook the waters of Lake Garda yesterday. A motorboat, for reasons still under investigation, collided with a sailboat near the town of Desenzano.

According to initial reports from local authorities, the incident occurred around 5:00 PM. The speeding motorboat is believed to have collided with the sailboat, causing it to capsize. Rescue teams immediately responded and successfully rescued the two occupants of the sailboat.
Condition of the Injured
The two injured individuals, a man and a woman in their thirties, were urgently transported to the nearest hospital. The man suffered multiple fractures but is not in life-threatening condition, while the woman sustained bruises and a mild head injury. Both are currently under medical observation.
Ongoing Investigations
Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident. No possibilities are being ruled out at this time, including excessive speed or the driver of the motorboat being distracted. “We are gathering testimonies and reviewing any available video footage to clarify what happened,” said a spokesperson for the Coast Guard.
