Brescia’s summer is gearing up for a month of cultural and artistic events that will animate Piazza del Mercato from June 28th to July 31st. The program of “Brescia d’Estate” will offer a wide range of activities including music, theater, art, and guided tours, involving numerous local organizations.

Music will be the protagonist of the summer season, starting on June 28th with the final event of the Labadabajazz festival, curated by the Laba Academy of Fine Arts. This will be followed by concerts from the Jazz on the Road, Jazz Team Brescia, Claps – Circuito Glocal Sound, San Rocco in Musica Bagolino, and Etno-Tracce in Franciacorta festivals. These events will offer a diverse musical panorama ranging from jazz to ethno-folk.

Theater will also play a central role in the summer schedule with performances by Teatro 19 (Mutazioni 2024), the Minima Teatro theater school, Chiara Becchimanzi, and Laura Formenti. An important novelty will be the collaboration between Fandango, A Sud, and Teatro Aquilante for a show dedicated to the Seveso environmental disaster.

Among the cultural initiatives, the literary anniversaries organized by Cieli Vibranti stand out, celebrating figures such as Puccini, Byron, and Saint-Exupéry through innovative theatrical representations.

Guided tours represent an essential part of the summer program. This year, they will feature unconventional itineraries to discover the historical secrets of the city. The participating associations include Arte con noi, BidiBrescia, Bresciastory, Guida Artistica, Oltre il Tondino, Scopribrescia, Speleologia Bresciana, and Brescia Underground.

A detailed program of events is available for both June and July. The events include performances by the Accademia di Belle Arti Laba, Guida Artistica, Teatro 19, GRAAL, and Chiara Becchimanzi, among others. The theater shows and musical concerts will continue throughout the month.

In case of rain, all events scheduled in Piazza Mercato will take place at the Auditorium San Barnaba (C.so Magenta 44).

The guided walks will be scheduled until September 12th, with thematic routes exploring various aspects of the historical and modern city.
