The Musica Riva Festival is celebrating a significant milestone this year, reaching its 40th edition. From July 17th to 28th, Garda Trentino will come alive with over thirty events including concerts, film screenings, book presentations, masterclasses, workshops, and meetings with internationally renowned artists.

The event will take place in some of the most picturesque locations in the Garda area. These include the Varone waterfall, the beaches of Lake Garda, the archaeological area of San Martino, and the church of San Lorenzo in Tenno. Other iconic places such as the Spiaggia degli Olivi and the Rocca di Riva del Garda (home to the Alto Garda Museum) will host various events. The municipal theater of Pergine Valsugana, Palazzo Martini, and Piazza Tre Novembre will also be involved in the activities.

The festival will have a special preview on July 17th at 9 pm at the Campo Lomaso convent in Comano Terme. Giuseppe Fiorenza will perform on the piano with a show titled “music without borders.”

The journey towards the official opening will continue on July 19th with two performances scheduled for 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm at the Mag in Rocca art gallery in Riva del Garda. The Michele Merola Contemporary Dance Company will present “Short Stories,” a performance choreographed by Michele Merola with music by Natalia Abbascià and costumes by Nuvia Valestri. The performers include Emiliana Campo, Lorenzo Fiorito, Mario Genovese, Fabiana Lonardo, Nicola Stasi, and Giuseppe Villarosa.

The official inauguration ceremony will take place for the first time in the Primo Maggio park in the Due Giugno neighborhood at 8 pm on the same day. This event will feature the musical show “Sound(E)Scape” with Andrea Dionisi on drums and percussion and Lorenzo Bellini on piano. This will be followed by the vertical dance performance “Skyline” performed by Il Posto + Marco Castelli Small Ensemble with choreography by Wanda Moretti.

The Musica Riva association strongly wanted to bring this grand inaugural event to the peripheral district of Due Giugno, one of the vital areas of the city of Riva del Garda.
