The PerugiAssisi Foundation for the Culture of Peace, in collaboration with the National Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace and Human Rights and the “Antonio Papisca” University of Padua’s Center for Human Rights, has launched a new European project titled “Promoting a New Generation of Peace”. This ambitious program aims to train a group of forty young people between the ages of 18 and 30 as peace builders.

The initiative will involve participants in various activities over the next 18 months, during which they will closely follow the operations of the PerugiAssisi Foundation. A crucial aspect of the project will be the deepening of the “Pact for the Future”, which will be negotiated and approved at the United Nations’ “Summit of the Future” scheduled for September 23-24, 2024.

The main objective is to develop in young people a critical sense and active participation in building a society where peace is not simply the opposite of war, but becomes a daily method of addressing conflicts without resorting to violence. The PerugiAssisi Foundation aims to train a new generation of individuals who are true architects and artisans of peace.

The project involves the creation of a youth community capable of speaking out on issues related to peace, human rights, and global issues. Young people will be encouraged to engage with local authorities and associations, discussing how to apply the knowledge they have acquired about peace and the UN Pact for the Future in their daily lives.

Young people interested in becoming actively involved in the process can apply by filling out an online form by July 31. All necessary information is available on the official websites www.perlapace.it and www.perugiassisi.org.
