Local Collaboration Launches Support Project for Elderly and Disabled

Start of the Agreement and Participants

On the beginning of June 1996, a convention was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale in Cornuda for the signing of a project aimed at supporting the most vulnerable social groups. Some representatives of local political and social forces participated in the event, including the mayor, representatives of the neighborhood association, and various voluntary organizations.

Objectives and Funding

The project, which will have a duration of two years, particularly aims to improve the living conditions of elderly and disabled residents in the municipality. The total amount allocated for the initiative is approximately one hundred thousand euros, funded through regional and European Union funds.

Activities and Expected Goals

The activities include home care services, psychological support, training courses, and socialization programs for the groups most in need. Additionally, social transport will be strengthened, and listening and gathering centers will be established.

The project intends to promote the importance of social inclusion and improve the quality of life for the involved individuals, also creating moments of encounter and solidarity among citizens.

The Role of Institutions and Associations

The municipal administration has pledged its support to back the initiatives, ensuring surveillance and coordination services among the various involved components.
