Cornuda Social Support Initiative Launched by Local Authorities and Volunteers
Start of the Agreement and Participants
On the beginning of June 1996, a convention was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale of Cornuda to sign a project supporting the socially most vulnerable individuals. Some representatives from local political and social forces participated in the event, including the mayor, representatives of neighborhood associations, and various voluntary organizations.
Objectives and Funding
The project, which will last two years, specifically aims to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents in the municipality. The total amount allocated for the initiative amounts to about one hundred thousand euros, financed through regional and European funds.
Activities and Expected Goals
The activities include home care services, psychological support, training courses, and socialization activities for the categories most in need. Additionally, social transportation and services, listening centers, and gathering places will be enhanced.
