Matteo Porru Presents Il volo sopra l’oceano at Montichiari Library

A Montichiari, the third event of the sixth edition of the “Libramente” book series will take place on Wednesday, 24 June at 8:45 pm in the garden of the Municipal Library (entrance from Via Trieste 56). The evening will feature young author Matteo Porru, presenting his novel *Il volo sopra l’oceano* in conversation with Federico Migliorati, with music performed by Maestro Matteo Este from the “Pellegrino da Montechiaro” string school. Entry is free.

Porru (born in 2001) is the author of his debut book *Il dolore crea l’inverno*, translated into multiple countries and awarded internationally. He has also appeared on television, including *Dopofestival di Sanremo*, and currently hosts *Under 25 – Giovani Talenti* on RaiPlay, traveling across Italy to meet ten young talents in sport, music, arts and science. The novel follows Michele, who boards a plane despite fear of flying, carrying a heavier “bag” than the physical one: a secret tied to a distant encounter and the desire for reconciliation, with a four-hour flight leading to a conversation that challenges adult prejudices about young people.

If weather conditions are poor, the event will be moved to the Municipal Council Hall in Piazza Senatore Pedini 1. The initiative is organized by the Municipality’s Culture Department in collaboration with the Municipal Library and the Mirtillo bookstore.
