Piazza Corlo Approves Traffic Changes, Adds Five New Parking Spots
The municipal council of Lonato del Garda has approved changes to vehicle circulation in the south side of Piazza Corlo, in front of the church, introducing five new parking spaces. The decision was adopted on Tuesday, 4 August, via resolution no. 96/2026, following requests from local shop owners and residents.
The new bays will be placed in the area between the pillars of the historic walls and the start of Via Sorattino. Parking will be regulated with an “hourly disc” limit of 30 minutes on weekdays, from 8:00 to 19:00, under Local Police order no. 274/2026, which will replace the current temporary traffic setup introduced after the square’s redevelopment and extended by order no. 183/2026.
In the coming days, the administration plans to remove the barriers currently delimiting the square, repaint the horizontal road markings, and install new vertical signage. The section directly facing the church will be subject to a no-parking ban, marked with pedestrian safety posts and completed with semicircular stone benches; works are expected to take about ten days, barring delays. Updates will be published through the municipality’s official channels.
