Lonato Opens Don Giorgio Tosi Municipal Nursery, Managed by La Sorgente
Lonato del Garda moves forward with the reopening of its municipal nursery, the “Don Giorgio Tosi” daycare, entrusting the 2026-2031 service management to Società Cooperativa La Sorgente. The municipality also outlined the operating schedule and the support measures available to families.
The nursery will host up to **45 children aged 6 to 36 months**, with priority for local residents; capacity may be increased by **20%** under regional rules. The facility will operate Monday to Friday from **7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.**, offering full-time, morning part-time, and afternoon part-time options, plus an extended “post-nursery” service until **6:30 p.m.** to help with work-life balance. Fees and enrollment procedures are handled by La Sorgente, while families may access reductions through municipal contributions, **INPS Bonus**, and the regional measure **“Misura regionale Nidi Gratis Plus.”** For ISEE between **0 and 20,000 euros**, families can receive the municipal contribution and qualify for the full fee waiver; for ISEE between **20,000.01 and 25,000 euros**, the monthly reduction is **100 euros**. Applications must be submitted by **September 25, 2026** to the Social Services Office, following the public notice published by the Comune di Lonato del Garda.
The nursery’s name honors **Don Giorgio Tosi**, recognized by municipal resolution **No. 104** for his pastoral and educational work in Lonato from 1983 to 1996. He died in 2000 while providing help after a road accident, and is remembered for activities including after-school programs, afternoon initiatives, summer camps, and sports events.
