Patrizia Rota Brings Wonder to Desenzano in New Exhibition

A solo exhibition by painter **Patrizia Rota** will run from **26 September to 18 October 2026** at the **Galleria Civica G.B. Bosio in Desenzano del Garda**, with the inauguration on **Saturday, 26 September at 5:00 p.m.** The show is curated by **Gianfranco Ferlisi** and focuses on the artist’s still-life research developed over the past twenty years.

Rota’s works center on a small set of familiar objects—**fruits, a shell, a bunch of grapes, and three lemons**—rendered with close attention to surfaces, reflections, and light. Rather than using still life as a symbol of an imminent end, the exhibition presents these elements as if they are **appearing in the present**, enlarged and luminous, sometimes almost monumental, and briefly removed from the action of time. The curator frames the project as a renewed dialogue with painting itself, drawing on the wider tradition of Western still life.

The exhibition also reconsiders the genre through the tension between **reality and artifice**, **presence and absence**, and **time and stillness**. “Rota’s fruits are not only fruits: they are **events of painting**,” Ferlisi said, emphasizing that the work’s impact goes beyond imitation or technical perfection, aiming instead to “return a soul to things.” The exhibition remains open to the public until **18 October 2026**.
