Sirmione Approves 2026 Right-to-Education Plan, Funding 760 Students With €1.7M

The municipality of **Sirmione** has approved the **2026/2027 “Right to Education” plan**, allocating **€1,713,690** to support around **760 students**. The funding focuses on **school inclusion**, **support for families**, **teaching innovation**, and **recognition of merit**, with the aim of ensuring students have the conditions needed to grow and develop their abilities.

The largest share includes **€590,000** for **around 27,000 hours** of one-to-one assistance for students from **early childhood to high school**. The plan also earmarks **about €578,000** for family services, keeping **free-of-charge and fee levels unchanged** from the previous year, including **Pedibus** in Lugana and Colombare, **pre-school care**, and a **ludoteca**, all free for residents. In addition, the municipality confirms **€350,000** for the area’s **three accredited nursery schools** to help local families and those with **ISEE certification** with tuition costs.

For the school year 2026/2027, a **new internal meal-prep center** will come into operation at the former primary school site, enabling meals to be prepared on site while maintaining a **plastic-free** canteen. The plan also introduces **mensa support for first-grade primary students**, funded with **€14,500**, and invests **€165,140** in expanded educational offerings, including a **STEAM pathway** and new initiatives such as **“Relazioni senza password”** (gender-violence prevention), **environmental education**, and **HELPIS** to promote citizenship and prevent **cyberbullying** with involvement from institutions and local police forces. Following a **July 20** regulation update, **study grants** rise from **35 to 45**, supported by **€17,050** for upper-secondary and university students.
