Montichiari Unveils Cultural Projects for Pasinetti Legacy’s 20th Anniversary
Montichiari presented cultural projects for the 20th anniversary of Laura Pasinetti’s bequest, alongside the festival “Logos – Parole in movimento,” during a press conference at the Lechi Museum in Montichiari. The programme will run from 15 to 18 October 2026 and is designed to promote the city’s historical, artistic and scientific heritage through a series of meetings, events and exhibitions.
Mayor Marco Togni highlighted Montichiari’s role as a major local hub, citing the airport, the Fiera Centre, the Velodrome and Palageorge, while stressing that the city also has a strong cultural network managed by Montichiari Musei—one of only 18 officially recognised museum systems in Lombardy. The initiative is supported by partnerships including the Maria e Goffredo Bellonci Foundation and the Treccani Foundation, with the Bellonci collaboration bringing five finalists of the Strega Saggistica Prize to Montichiari, and Treccani activities focused on exploring “the word” in all its forms.
Culture Councillor Martina Varone said the festival’s theme—“open” and multidisciplinary language—connects science and art, reflecting Laura Pasinetti’s work as an internationally known astrophysicist and the legacy of her grandfather, painter Antonio Pasinetti (born in Montichiari in 1863), who donated numerous artworks to the municipality. Giovanni Solimine, president of the Bellonci Foundation, and Bcc Garda’s vice director Lamberto Tonini also spoke about the value of contemporary cultural debate and community support, while the municipality launched a new Instagram page, @visitmontichiariofficial, to broaden outreach.
