On Sunday 1 November traffic around Lake Garda is affected by the Padenghe half marathon, which closes roads in Desenzano and Lonato. Roadworks continue in several lakeside towns, and traffic rules change around the cemetery in Bussolengo.
Half marathon: road closures in Desenzano and Lonato
In Desenzano del Garda the traffic ban applies from 6:30 am to 2 pm and stays in force until the race is over. These streets and squares are closed to all vehicles: via Anelli, the Cesare Battisti lakefront (lungolago), piazza Umberto Papa, piazza Cappelletti, piazza Feltrinelli and via Vò.
Via Monte Corno, from the junction with via San Benedetto to the municipal boundary, and via Gramsci, from the same junction, are open only to residents and people with property on the street. Vehicles heading for via Scavi Romani can also use via Gramsci. Side access roads along the affected stretch are closed as well.
In Lonato del Garda the closure covers via Barcuzzi (SP 25), via Breda, Maguzzano, Maccarona, Remato (SP 572), via Catullo and via Santa Giulia up to the boundary with Padenghe. For the duration of the race, only the organisers, authorised vehicles and the participants’ support vehicles may use these roads.
No stopping near the cemetery in Bussolengo
In Bussolengo, on 1 November, driving and stopping are banned from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm on the stretch of via Verona in front of the cemetery, between via Pasubio and via San Rocco. Vehicles parked there will be removed. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes may not park in the cemetery car parks, in via Verona or in via Monte Galetto from 7:30 am to 8 pm.
Roadworks in the lakeside towns
In Lonato del Garda, via Industria and via Aldo Moro have a no-parking rule, with towing, and alternating one-way traffic controlled by traffic lights or traffic marshals until 13 November.
In via Fenil Nuovo Molini, near via Fenil Schena, the same arrangement applies until 16 November while the water mains are being renewed. If needed, the stretch may be closed completely.
Via Salera is closed to traffic and parking between number 11 and the vehicle depots further north, 24 hours a day, from 1 November to 31 December. Only construction vehicles are allowed through.
In Toscolano Maderno, the lakeside promenade in front of the port area, between via Religione and viale Marconi, is closed until 6 November because of building works. On public holidays and Sundays it reopens to pedestrians and cyclists.
In Trentino, in Ceniga di Dro, via Santi Pietro e Paolo is closed to traffic from 28 October to 4 November while a fibre-optic cable is installed.
