On Monday 9 November, traffic around Lake Garda is affected mainly by roadworks on the Gardesana, the lakeside road. At Torri del Benaco, alternating one-way traffic controlled by traffic lights on the SR 249 (Gardesana Orientale) stays in place until 4 December, on weekdays only. Several towns also have full closures and alternating one-way sections.
The Gardesana and main roads
Caprino Veronese: via San Pancrazio, via Mazzini, piazza Stringa and via Pazzon-Platano are closed to traffic, with works from 7 am to 6 pm. Alternating one-way traffic with traffic lights and traffic marshals applies in via Gardesana, via San Luigi and via Giare di Sotto, for resurfacing and road marking.
Torri del Benaco: on the Gardesana Orientale between km 58+700 and km 59+200, traffic lights regulate alternating one-way traffic during work alongside an electric power line. It runs from 9 November to 4 December, excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
Toscolano Maderno: in via Montana and on the state road 45 bis, alternating one-way traffic with traffic lights is in place from 8 am to 5 pm (with a break) until 13 November, for work on the electricity network.
Roadworks in the towns
Torri del Benaco
- Via Volpara, in the craft area, is closed until 31 March 2027 for the storage of building-site materials.
- Via per Albisano is closed from 9 November to 18 December for water network works, from 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays.
- Via San Zeno has alternating one-way traffic with a traffic marshal from 10 am to 2 pm on Monday, because of a house move.
- In the Eremitaggio area the road is closed from 9 to 13 November, 8 am to 5 pm, with two marshals, while a sewer pipe is connected.
Toscolano Maderno
- Via Valle delle Cartiere is closed to traffic, with works until completion.
- Via Sant’Ambrogio is closed from 9 to 30 November, with alternative routes signposted at Sanico and San Martino.
- In via Pulciano Cecina, near number 6, alternating one-way traffic with marshals runs from 8 am to 5 pm until 9 November.
Southern and eastern shore
- Desenzano del Garda: via Garbella is closed to through traffic until 30 November, except for residents, for a new electricity network. On the Cesare Battisti lakefront, between via Desenzanino and via Malaguti, and in via Minelli, alternating one-way traffic with marshals or traffic lights applies until 13 November for pavement works.
- Sirmione: in the Montebaldo car park, work to bury an electric line brings alternating one-way traffic and parking bans until 13 November, from 8 am to 6 pm on weekdays.
- Garda: via Abrile is closed until 11 November for resurfacing.
- Bardolino: via Costa di Vallonga and the Riva Palafitte cycle path are closed for road surface maintenance.
- Lonato del Garda: via Lavagnone has a parking ban with vehicle removal and alternating one-way traffic until 25 November; via Industria and via Aldo Moro are affected until 13 November, and via Fenil Nuovo Molini until 16 November.
- Castelnuovo del Garda: in via Catullo, alternating one-way traffic runs from 9 to 20 November, 8 am to 6 pm, except on 16 November because of the Cavalcaselle fair.
- Bussolengo: via Biancardin is closed from 8 am to 6 pm until 16 November for a new water and sewer connection.
- Valeggio sul Mincio: in via Concordia, via Mazzini and via Massagrande, alternating one-way traffic with traffic lights or marshals runs from 7 am to 6 pm until 13 November.
- Affi: in via Villabella, in the one-way section, no through traffic is allowed on weekdays until 20 November.
Western and northern shore
- Salò: via Cure del Lino is closed on Monday from 7 am to 1 pm, near number 1.
- Manerba del Garda: the via Rocca car park, in front of the museum, is unavailable from 9 to 30 November.
- Riva del Garda: via dell’Albola is narrowed with alternating one-way traffic from 9 to 13 November.
- Torbole: traffic in via Pontalti is suspended on Monday from 6 am to 7 am to let the building-site crane through. In via Strada Granda, near number 6, alternating one-way traffic with marshals runs from 9 to 16 November, 8 am to 4 pm.
- Ledro: in via Mughè at Tremalzo, no through traffic is allowed from 8 am to 5 pm, from Monday 9 to Wednesday 11 November.
Festivals and events
At Torri del Benaco, the via San Zeno car park, in front of the cemetery, stays closed until 18 November for the San Martino festival.
For the rest of the week and for alternative routes, it is best to check the signs at each roadwork site on the spot.
