The Municipal Theater of Salò is gearing up to enter the third act of its ambitious renovation, with the assignment of the works for the third phase to Caruso Costruzioni from Milan. This intervention, aimed at renovating technical systems and facilities, will involve a total expenditure of approximately €1,800,006.86, partially covered by urban planning fees linked to ongoing projects in the area. After a period of inactivity due to the completion of the second phase in November 2023, the resumption of work raises expectations for strengthening the city as a cultural center. The completion of the works is anticipated for 2026.
However, the total costs for the restoration of the theater have seen a significant increase, doubling from the initial estimate of €7.5 million. To finance the fourth phase, the municipality has planned a loan of €5 million to be included in the 2024-2026 budget. Mayor Francesco Cagnini has emphasized the need to manage the project responsibly, maintaining a sustainable vision for the municipal finances while working to further enhance the Municipal Theater of Salò.
