On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Casa Museo within Palazzo Maffei, a special exhibition has been organized, offering visitors the chance to explore a unique art collection born from entrepreneur Luigi Carlon’s passion for art, accumulated over sixty years.

The exhibition unfolds through the magnificent rooms of the palace, beginning with a fascinating model of a boat dating back to the Egyptian Middle Kingdom. This artifact, discovered in the tombs of notable figures, symbolically represented the transportation of the soul from the world of the living to that of the dead. It is the oldest among the over 650 works displayed in the collection.

A Journey Through Art

Continuing through the exhibition, visitors can admire significant artifacts from Roman archaeology as well as essential works of ancient and modern art. Among the great masters represented are renowned names such as Mantegna, Veronese, Canova, and Boldini. Among the recent acquisitions, the famous “Great Wave” by Hokusai stands out.

However, the collection is not limited to historical art; it also includes masterpieces from the twentieth century, both Italian and international. Works by Picasso, Magritte, Kandinsky, and Duchamp are just a few of the wonders that enrich the exhibition. The display also embraces contemporary artists like Cattelan and Sassolino, extending to innovative installations created with artificial intelligence that interact with the audience.

Useful Information

The Casa Museo is located at Piazza Erbe 38-38A in Verona and is open to the public, allowing everyone to discover these extraordinary artistic marvels. For further details or reservations, you can contact the number +39 045 5118529 or write to the email address info@palazzomaffeiverona.com.
