More than 2,000 young people participated yesterday in the Street Parade of Desenzano, an event that saw the presence of youth from across the province, as well as from Mantua and Verona, to demand free gathering spaces and protest against the Security Decree through a “traveling rave.” The parade, approximately 4 km long, started from the train station and concluded at Spiaggia d’oro, passing through various streets of the city. Despite the controversies raised by the center-right majority regarding the permits issued by the Brescia Police Headquarters, the event took place without incidents, thanks to the vigilance of law enforcement and the security measures implemented by the organizers.
The municipal administration distanced itself from the organization of the event, placing the responsibility on the Police Headquarters. The Security Councillor announced an inquiry to the Ministry of the Interior to discuss the authorization of similar events that could disturb public peace, emphasizing that the issue of a lack of social spaces is particularly felt among young people, who also expressed concerns about rent and the cost of living.
