A major event is set to take place next weekend in Arco, focusing on the Archducal Park and its botanical events. On Saturday, August 23, starting at 9:30 AM, the Trento Science Museum and the Sommolago association will offer guided tours to explore the history and botanical features of this ancient park established by Archduke Albert of Habsburg in the late 19th century. The day will culminate at 9 PM with a concert by the Plays Plant Orchestra, conducted by musicologist Edoardo Taori, who translates the biorhythms of plants into music, featuring renowned bassist Saturnino Celani. On Sunday, August 24, from 3 PM to 6 PM, “Books in the Park” will take place, an event dedicated to readings and activities for children and families, accompanied by costumed performers who will recall the park’s historical origins.
The Archducal Park has recently undergone significant restoration funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), completed in June 2023. It now hosts around 400 tree and shrub species over an area of two hectares. The weekend events are free; however, in case of bad weather, the concert will be held in the municipal casino’s ballroom with limited seating. Reservations for the guided tours are recommended via Eventbrite.
