From April 24th to 30th, the World Immunization Week will take place. ASST Garda is opening the doors of its vaccination centers to offer free vaccinations to the population to prevent infectious diseases, particularly measles and whooping cough: MMRV (Measles-Mumps-Rubella-Varicella) and dTpa (Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis).

The initiative, promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) with the slogan “Humanly Possible: Saving lives through immunization,” aims to raise awareness among the population about the importance of vaccines in preventing serious and potentially deadly diseases, both in children and adults, including pregnant women.

“Vaccinations represent one of the most important achievements of modern medicine,” commented the General Director of ASST Garda. “Thanks to vaccines, we have been able to eradicate terrible diseases like smallpox and polio and save millions of lives. It is crucial, however, not to let our guard down and to continue vaccinating ourselves to protect ourselves and others, especially vulnerable individuals.”

To participate in the initiative, it is necessary to visit one of our vaccination centers without an appointment, bringing the health card and, if available, the health documentation.

The vaccination centers are located in:

– Leno: Piazza Donatori di Sangue, 1 on April 24th and April 26th from 4 pm to 6:30 pm.
– Montichiari: Via Giovanni Falcone, 18 on April 26th from 4 pm to 6:30 pm.
– Lonato – Desenzano: at the La Rocca di Lonato del Garda shopping center on April 25th from 9 am to 1 pm and from 1:30 pm to 4 pm; on April 26th from 4 pm to 6:30 pm; on April 27th from 9 am to 1 pm and from 1:30 pm to 4 pm.
– Gavardo: Via Gosa, 74 on April 24th from 4 pm to 6:30 pm, and on April 27th from 9 am to 1 pm and from 1:30 pm to 4 pm.

The healthcare staff will be available to provide information and advice on vaccinations and administer the necessary vaccines.

Furthermore, vaccinations against the following infections will also be promoted:

– Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
– Female population aged between 18-26 years since 1998
– Male and female population between 11 and 18 years old, born since 2006 and not yet vaccinated
– Herpes zoster and Pneumococcal
– Individuals born between 1952 and 1959 who have never been vaccinated before
– Certain high-risk categories
