Recently, Bardolino hosted the presentation of an innovative project aimed at promoting sustainable tourism in the region. On Friday, July 18, at the Palace Hotel San Pietro, an application called “Punto Zero” was launched, developed by Federalberghi Garda Veneto in collaboration with Garda Green Club. This app will allow hotels and accommodation facilities to monitor their environmental impact by analyzing crucial parameters such as CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and waste management. The event saw the participation of numerous local administrators, including Mayor Daniele Bertasi, emphasizing the importance of sustainability for the future of tourism in the area.
The project aims to provide tourism operators with the necessary tools to assess and improve their ecological practices. According to Davide Fumaneri from Garda Green Club, each facility should dedicate just eight minutes a day to using the app to gather meaningful data on their environmental impact. This approach will not only promote greater awareness of ecological issues but will also enable the adoption of effective corrective measures in the long term. The hope expressed by the promoters is that by the end of 2025, a sufficient amount of data will be collected to initiate a significant reduction in the environmental impact of the participating tourism facilities.
