The Feast of Saints Faustino and Giovita is approaching, representing an important occasion for the Brescia community to celebrate and foster a sense of belonging. The events scheduled from February 14 to 16, 2025, promise to engage citizens and visitors with a series of initiatives that blend tradition, culture, and spirituality.

Friday, February 14

The inauguration of the feast will take place on Friday at 6:30 PM at the Basilica of Saints Faustino and Giovita, where the Choir of the Parish of San Bartolomeo di Castenedolo will perform the Solemn Mass of the Coronation KW317 by W.A. Mozart. The service will be presided over by Mons. Gaetano Fontana, the General Vicar of the Diocese of Brescia, and will be broadcast live on Teletutto Bresciasette and Radio Super.

Saturday, February 15

Saturday will be dedicated to a series of liturgical celebrations at the Basilica of Saints Faustino and Giovita. The solemn masses will be held at 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, while at 11:00 AM, Bishop Pierantonio Tremolada will preside over the pontifical mass. In the afternoon, the Holy Rosary for the city will take place at 1:00 PM, followed by additional solemn masses at 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM, culminating with the Solemn Vespers at 8:00 PM.

Moreover, on Saturday from 8:00 AM until evening, the traditional fair of Saints Faustino and Giovita will be held in the city center, featuring hundreds of exhibitors from various Italian regions.

A significant moment of the day will be the award ceremony for the Brescianity Award, organized by the University of Brescia Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts in collaboration with the Foundation of Brescian Civilization. The ceremony will take place at the University on Via Tosio at 9:30 AM.

Also in the afternoon, the awarding of the National Poetry Prize Santi Faustino e Giovita will be held, coordinated by the Foundation of Brescian Civilization, with institutional speeches expected from President Mario Gorlani and Mons. Giambattista Francesconi.

For those interested in exploring local art, Saturday will also offer the opportunity to visit the Civic Museums for free from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last entry at 5:15 PM), including the Museum of Santa Giulia and the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo.

Sunday, February 16

The festivities will continue on Sunday with a remarkable musical event: an organ concert by Ton Koopman at the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine at 4:00 PM.
