On the afternoon of Friday, June 6, a routine check led to a significant discovery in Calcinato, near Ponte San Marco. Around 2:30 PM, a patrol from the Local Police stopped a suspicious van, noted not only for its visible dents but also for the demeanor of the three men inside, who were already known to law enforcement. During the inspection, the officers uncovered a substantial load of metals including electrical cables, copper, brass, and aluminum, along with various burglary tools such as saws and pliers.
None of the occupants were able to provide valid explanations for the origin of the transported materials, prompting the officers to conduct further checks at the Command. Thanks to a recent report from citizens regarding the theft of industrial cables, part of the seized materials was traced back to that incident. Consequently, the van and its contents were confiscated, and the three men were reported at large for receiving stolen goods in complicity and for the unjustified possession of tools intended for burglary.
