The Canottieri Garda Salò achieved an outstanding result at the 2025 Winter Regional Championships, held over the weekends of March 1-2 and March 8-9 in the pools of Monza and Milan, winning a total of 10 medals, including 1 gold, 4 silvers, and 5 bronzes. Among the standout athletes, Matteo Vimercati shone with his victory in the 200-meter breaststroke, also securing a silver in the 100-meter breaststroke and a bronze in the 400-meter individual medley. Another athlete who made a significant impact was Beatrice Chiappini, whose bronze in the 400-meter freestyle earned her qualification for the National Youth Criteria in Riccione.
In addition to individual successes, the team demonstrated great cohesion, with nearly all athletes qualifying for individual events and participating in the relay. Coaches Chiara Chiappini and Maurizio Pompele expressed their satisfaction with the team’s performances, highlighting the commitment of young swimmers like Camilla Usardi and Giovanni Tononi, who narrowly missed qualifying for the Italian Championships. Thus, Canottieri Garda Salò continues to establish itself as a prominent entity in the regional swimming scene.
