Sirmione: 60-Year-Old Flees from Local Police, Driving Without a License A 60-year-old man from the Vicenza area was involved in a car chase that began in Sirmione and ended in Ponti sul Mincio, covering approximately 44 kilometers. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 5, when the driver attempted to evade a traffic stop by local police officers, who had pulled him over near the highway toll booth due to his car being uninsured.
The high-speed chase took the man through several towns in Mantua until he drove onto a dead-end road in Ponti sul Mincio, forcing him to stop. Officers quickly apprehended the fugitive and discovered during their checks that he was also driving without a license. He now faces charges of resisting a public official and administrative fines totaling around 6,000 euros, in addition to the seizure of the vehicle.
