Recently, the experience of some young people who participated in the Universal Civil Service project at the Municipality of Castiglione delle Stiviere has come to an end. The Municipal Administration organized a meeting in the Council Chamber to bid farewell and thank Elisabetta, Giulia, and Andrea, accompanied by department officials. Recognition was also given to Marta and Gianmaria, who completed their program ahead of schedule.
The Universal Civil Service represents an important opportunity for personal and professional growth for young men and women between the ages of 18 and 28. The volunteers were involved in the socio-cultural sector of Castiglione, collaborating with municipal employees in educational, cultural, and public education services. During the service period, specific training courses were provided for each project, and upon completion, a certificate of service and competence is issued. This period can be recognized as a university internship and can provide points in public competitions. Each young person also receives a monthly expense reimbursement.

How to participate in the Universal Civil Service
To participate in the selection of Civil Volunteers, it is necessary to respond to the announcements published annually by the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service on the websites www.politichegiovanili.gov.it and www.scelgoilserviziocivile.gov.it. Each announcement presents different projects proposed by different organizations; the first thing to do is to choose the one that best suits your interests and expectations. The Municipality of Castiglione delle Stiviere plans to publish the next announcement by February 2025.
