On the afternoon of Saturday, June 29, 2024, around 4:30 p.m., the Coast Guard rescued a 14-year-old boy in distress in the Gulf of Salò, on Lake Garda. The young boy, of Tunisian nationality and residing in the province of Brescia, was struggling about 150 meters from the shore when he was spotted by the crew of the CP 602 patrol boat.
The visibly exhausted boy, who was having difficulty swimming, was brought aboard the vessel and taken back to the beach in the gulf where his friends were waiting for him. Fortunately, no further medical intervention was necessary after the rescue.
