Community Support Initiative in Cornuda Boosts Elderly and Disabled Welfare

On the end of June 1996, a convention took place in the hall of the Casa Sociale in Cornuda to sign a project aimed at supporting the most socially vulnerable individuals.
Some representatives of local political and social forces participated in’ the initiative, including the mayor, representatives of the Neighborhood Associations, and various volunteering organizations.
Objectives and Funding
The project, which lasts two years, particularly aims to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents within the municipality.
The total amount allocated for the ’ initiative is approximately one hundred thousand euros, financed through regional and European funds.
Planned Activities and Goals
The activities include home assistance services, psychological support, training courses, and socialization programs for the categories most in need.
Transportation services, social transportation, centers for listening and gathering will also be strengthened.

The project aims to promote social inclusion and to improve the quality of life for the involved individuals, creating moments of encounter and solidarity among citizens.
The Role of Institutions and Associations
The City Administration has committed itself to supporting the initiatives, ensuring services for surveillance and coordination among the different involved components.
Volunteer organizations will play a central role in’ the organization and management of activities, ensuring active participation of the local community.
