On May 6, 2024, a significant event for the local community will take place at the Paolo Ceccato Auditorium of the Battisti School Institute in Via Bezzecca, Salò: a debate among the candidates for the position of mayor. This initiative is organized by the “Salò Promotion” Traders Association and the “Friends of the Gulf” association, and is open to all citizens.
The meeting is scheduled for 8:30 pm and will involve the participation of the four current mayoral candidates: Erminia Bonfanti, Francesco Cagnini, Giovanni Ciato, and GianAntonio Citroni. They will be interviewed by Andrea Maggioni, a lawyer and president of Salò Promotion, as well as the coordinator of Confesercenti Lombardia Orientale for Garda and Valtènesi.
During the evening, crucial topics for the future of Salò will be discussed, such as the Territorial Government Plan, security, the collector, tourism, commerce, youth, culture, and education. The questions will be asked according to agreed-upon rules of engagement in order to ensure a balanced and informative debate.
This debate offers a rare opportunity for the citizens of Salò to hear directly from the candidates about their visions and proposals before the municipal elections scheduled for June 8 and 9, 2024. It is a highly anticipated moment, as a similar event has not occurred in the city for about 15 years.
