Cornuda Social Welfare Project Aims to Improve Living Conditions for Vulnerable Citizens

Start of the agreement and participants

On the end of June 1996, a convention was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale of Cornuda for the signing of a project in favor of the most socially vulnerable people.

Several representatives of local political and social forces participated in ^’ the operation, including the mayor, representatives of the Neighborhood Associations, and various volunteer organizations.

Objectives and funding

The project, which has a duration of two years, particularly aims to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents in the municipality.

The total amount allocated for the ^’ initiative amounts to approximately one hundred thousand euros, financed with regional and European funds.

Activities and planned objectives

The activities include home care services, psychological support, training and socialization courses for the weaker categories.

Social transportation and services will also be enhanced, along with listening and gathering centers.

Goals and social inclusion

The project intends to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life of the people involved, also creating opportunities for meeting and solidarity among citizens.

The role of institutions and associations

^the Municipal Administration has committed itself to support initiatives, ensuring surveillance services and coordination among the different involved components.

Volunteer associations will play a central role in^’ the organization and management of activities, guaranteeing active participation of the local community.
