Desenzano: Dangerous Dives from the Feltrinelli Pier Despite Bans, Police Intervention. In recent days, the new Feltrinelli pier in Desenzano has drawn attention due to repeated water incursions by young people, disregarding the posted prohibitions. Over the past weekend, at least two incidents were reported in which groups of youths jumped into the lake, raising concerns among passersby. On Saturday, a group of around twenty people engaged in this activity, while on Sunday, ten young individuals replicated the scene with shouts and laughter.
The intervention of the State Police was prompted by numerous reports received; officers identified several participants and issued fines. However, despite the presence of law enforcement, many continued to dive in the subsequent hours. This practice is particularly hazardous due to the irregular seabed in that area of the lake, characterized by shallow depths and protruding rocks that can lead to serious accidents, as evidenced by an incident in 2017 involving a tourist who was severely injured after jumping from the pier.
