A nearly one-kilometer-long island of debris has been spotted off the shores of Manerba on Lake Garda, due to the heavy rains that have affected the region in recent days. This accumulation of waste has been carried south by the current and mainly originates from the Sarca River and its tributaries.

Local authorities have advised extreme caution for navigation, especially during nighttime hours, while awaiting a cleanup operation similar to the one already carried out on Lake Sebino. Images of the debris island are rapidly circulating on social media, drawing attention to the situation.
