Desenzano: A Record 2024 with €2.1 Million from the Tourist Tax. The municipality has experienced remarkable success in 2024, with increasing tourist flows leading to revenue from the tourist tax exceeding €2.1 million. Analyses indicate a significant rise in tourist attendance, with 409,640 visitors compared to 385,096 the previous year (+6.37%). Overnight stays also saw an increase, reaching 1,172,807, up from 1,090,774 in 2023 (+7.52%). This positive trend has been accompanied by a slight change in the average length of stay, which rose from 2.73 to 2.78 days, along with a diversification of revenue sources.
The Deputy Mayor emphasized that the revenue from the tourist tax has grown thanks to strategies initiated in 2020, culminating in a tariff increase in 2022. In addition to funding for the maintenance of parks and public spaces, the municipality has also invested in significant events for the city, such as the Giro d’Italia and the Notti di Note festival. With this economic outcome, Desenzano is preparing to face future challenges in local tourism and the management of city services.
