Lights and Shadows on Lake Garda: Easter and Easter Monday, Tourism Remains Without a “Bang”. During the Easter holidays of 2025, Desenzano experienced a decline in hotel bookings, dropping from full occupancy to 80%. Despite this, Easter Monday brought some liveliness to the Lower Garda region, thanks to the sun that enlivened the squares and lakeside promenades. Hundreds of residents and “quick visit” tourists flocked to the center of Desenzano in the afternoon, providing partial relief to local businesses that feared greater losses due to unfavorable weather forecasts.
Emanuele Bonotto, president of Visit Desenzano, described the situation as “a good but not thrilling Easter,” highlighting the numerous cancellations linked to the bad weather. However, tourism agencies estimate a 10% growth compared to the previous year, fueling hopes for the future. Although the cloudy days limited attendance at tourist attractions and resulted in about a thousand fewer visitors compared to the days leading up to Easter, bars and restaurants reported good results thanks to local cuisine. In particular, events like the Palio dello S-ciapì in Tremosine attracted visitors to the area’s establishments.
