The electric car sharing service Eway, promoted by Garda Uno, integrates with the E-VAI network, a company of the FNM group, aiming to enhance sustainable mobility around the Lake Garda area and its neighboring provinces. This collaboration combines local infrastructure with a proven technological platform, expanding options for environmentally friendly transportation in a region with a strong tourist vocation.

A New Integrated Management

As of today, the management of the Eway service is handled through the E-VAI platform. The existing five stations, located in Desenzano, Peschiera, Padenghe, Salò, and Provaglio d’Iseo, have been integrated into the E-VAI apps. The Eway fleet consists of 15 fully electric state-of-the-art cars, available for rental periods ranging from one hour to several days. To use the service, users can register via the E-VAI website or mobile app and subsequently book a vehicle through the same channels or by contacting the customer service number. The pick-up and return of the vehicle must occur at the same station chosen from the available options: Viale Cavour in Desenzano, Viale della Stazione in Peschiera, Viale Zane in Salò, Via Italo Barbieri 20 in Padenghe, and Piazza Portici in Provaglio d’Iseo.

Rates and Benefits for Users

Registration for the service is free. Rental rates start at a minimum of one hour for €12, which includes 70 km of travel. A daily rate of €49 is also available, which covers 70 km of travel for each day of use. Eway’s car sharing vehicles can operate in the provinces of Brescia, Bergamo, Verona, Trento, Mantova, and Cremona. Among the benefits offered is the possibility for new drivers to use the service, free parking in yellow and blue zones, and unrestricted access to limited traffic zones (ZTL) in participating municipalities.

Statements from the Partners

Luca Pascucci, General Director of E-VAI, commented on the initiative: “Our technological platform is the result of years of experience in managing a station-based car sharing system throughout Lombardy, and today we are pleased to make it available for the cars in the Lake Garda area as well.” He added, “We believe that shared mobility is the perfect solution for moving in a smarter and more sustainable way in regions with a strong tourist vocation, and we are happy to contribute to the growth of the E-WAY service.”

Joining him was Massimiliano Faini, Operational Director of Production Activities at Garda Uno, who stated: “The collaboration with E-VAI represents an important evolution for Eway, our electric car sharing service, which we want to make increasingly widespread, accessible, and aligned with the needs of the territory.” Faini went on to emphasize that the choice of partner was made in favor of a company that shares the same vision focused on innovation, environmental sustainability, and quality of life, defining the project as a common path to reduce emissions and traffic.

Profile of E-VAI

E-VAI, 100% owned by FNM, is the company that manages the sustainable mobility services of the Group. It launched the first regional electric car sharing service integrated with the Lombardy railway system in 2011. Over more than a decade of operation, the service has contributed to an estimated reduction of about 900,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions. The E-VAI fleet consists of 300 low-impact vehicles, almost entirely electric, certified for 4/5 passengers. Its presence is widespread in Lombardy, with over 150 E-VAI points in 80 locations, including strategic points such as airports, train stations, hospitals, and universities.
