A serious road accident occurred on Sunday, August 11, 2024, along the SP 567, at the border between Lonato and Castiglione delle Stiviere, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy. Lorenzo Cela, a resident of Rivoltella, was traveling as a passenger in a Volkswagen Polo driven by the mother of his 17-year-old friend. The driver lost control of the vehicle, veering into the opposite lane and colliding head-on with a Lancia Delta.
The incident took place around 4:30 PM and involved a total of five people. In addition to the tragic loss of Lorenzo, the girl’s mother was hospitalized in critical condition, while the other two occupants of the Lancia Delta sustained less severe injuries. Rescue operations were carried out by several ambulances and firefighters. This event marks yet another tragic episode on the roads of Brescia, which have already been marred by recent fatal accidents.
