A fatal accident occurred yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, May 27, on the SP 236 in Montichiari, resulting in the death of a 45-year-old woman originally from Senegal and residing in Carpenedolo. The alert was triggered around 5 PM when two cars were involved in a head-on collision for reasons yet to be clarified. Firefighters intervened to extract the injured from the wreckage.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 56-year-old man from the province of Varese, sustained serious injuries and was transported in critical condition to the Civile Hospital in Brescia via helicopter rescue. Unfortunately, despite the medical team’s efforts, they were unable to save the woman. The SP 236 was temporarily closed to allow for safety operations in the area.
