The Franco Mazzotti Cup, now in its sixteenth edition, is set to engage enthusiasts and participants in the enchanting setting of the Lake Garda and its surrounding areas. Organized by the Mille Miglia Club in honor of the founder of this iconic race, this event has established itself as one of the most followed competitions on the ACI Storico calendar.
Route and Event Details
This year, the competition will take place along a captivating route that includes Lake Valvestino, Lake Idro, Passo di Crocedomini, and the Camonica Valley – with an overnight stay planned in Boario Terme – leading up to Lake Iseo, passing through Chiari, the birthplace of Franco Mazzotti, and concluding at the Ghedi Air Base. Technical and sports checks are scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday morning in Sirmione, where the race will officially kick off on Saturday, October 19, at 9:30 AM.
News for Participants
A significant update for this edition is the admission of modern sports cars produced after 1990, a change that further enriches the variety of vehicles in the competition. The route features 80 timed trials and 5 average speed tests, ensuring a challenging technical experience for all competitors.
Social Commitment
In addition to the sporting competition, the Franco Mazzotti Cup is also distinguished by its commitment to the local community. Donations to local associations are planned during the event, highlighting the importance of solidarity within the competition.
Traffic Changes
Regarding traffic changes during the event, Sirmione will not experience significant alterations except in the Piazzale Porto area and the initial part of Lungolago Diaz. These areas will be completely closed to traffic from 9:00 AM on Friday, October 18, until 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, to allow for the parking and departure of the vintage cars registered for the race. Additionally, a two-way traffic system will be implemented on Viale Marconi.
With these premises, the XVI edition of the Franco Mazzotti Cup promises to be a memorable event for all automotive enthusiasts and beyond.
