Fraudulent Phone Calls Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire department, or the municipal police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or to those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who,
